In The Latest MBC Drama ‘The Golden Spoon’, Lee Jong Won Himself Will Play The Character Of Hwang Tae Yong, A Special Friend Whose Life Is Coveted By Lee Seung Chun.
Actor Lee Jong Won recently shared his thoughts on his character in MBC’s upcoming drama “The Golden Spoon.” Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, “The Golden Spoon” is a new drama about a student born to a poor family who uses a magical golden spoon to trade fate with a friend born into a rich family.
BTOB ‘s Sungjae will be playing Lee Seung Chun, a student who hopes to change his life with the titular golden spoon. Meanwhile, Lee Jong Won himself will play Hwang Tae Yong, a special friend whose life is coveted by Lee Seung Chun.
“What I find most interesting is the story of the characters going back and forth between privilege and poverty,” said Lee Jong Won. “I thought it would be fun to act as Hwang Tae Yong and Lee Seung Chun, who are very different characters from each other.”
“Because Hwang Tae Yong is very rich, to the point that he has his own personal assistant, I think he is someone people are envious of,” he added. Lee Jong Won also spoke affectionately about his character as he described Hwang Tae Yong’s hidden charms. “I think Hwang Tae Yong is a very charming character on the inside. Although he seems very cynical on the outside, he is a character who actually seeks very little pleasure.”
Meanwhile, Lee Jong Won has previously been known for his roles in dramas such as “My Unfamiliar Family”, “XX” and “The Spies Who Loved Me”. Meanwhile, the new drama “The Golden Spoon” will premiere on September 23 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
