The Sosie Bacon-led horror film is currently out now.
Spooky season is officially upon us, and it’s time to add one more film to your movie list.
Smile hit the box office in late September, and viewers are absolutely freaked out by the movie based on director Parker Finn‘s

2020 short film Laura Hasn’t Slept. The story follows Dr. Rose Cotter (portrayed by Sosie Bacon), a therapist who finds herself witnessing the death of one of her patients. As she begins to notice even more disturbing instances, Rose leads herself to believe she is being possessed by a supernatural being who prefers to scare via a particularly creepy smile.
Feeling a bit unsettled? Yes. But we’re sure you’re also intrigued to know where you can stream the new movie from home. Luckily, it won’t be long before you can get all the goosebumps without leaving the comfort of your couch. Here’s what to know about watching Smile online:
Right now, you can only watch Smile by heading to your local movie theater. But before you begin to worry, it won’t be too long before the horror film drops on a streaming site.
Since Smile is being distributed by Paramount Pictures, this automatically means the movie will eventually land on the movie studio’s streaming site Paramount+. In fact, a recent report from Business Insider said that the film was originally only supposed to live on the streamer before being given the chance to head to the box office.
That said, Paramount does have its own strategy for when viewers can expect to stream Smile online. As with other projects like Top Gun: Maverick, the studio likes to let films play in theaters for at least 45 days before they go to Paramount+. If this holds true for Smile, then it’s safe to assume moviegoers can start watching it from home starting November 14.
As far as how to subscribe to Paramount+, we’ve got you covered. If you don’t have access to an account, you’ll need to create one. You can test out the streamer with a one-week free trial before opting into plans that start at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. If you are a student, the platform will give you a 25% discounted rate as well.
Once you’ve set up your account, you can check out the movie page on the Paramount+ website or the Paramount+ app.
