During our game session, which by the way was a marathon, we not only tried the demo that our parish priest played at the time, gamingwe also reviewed the beginning of the adventure and were able to explore with some freedom one of the several settings with “open world” sections that will be included in final fantasy 16 but, as is tradition, let’s go in parts.

Obviously we won’t tell you much more about the plot so as not to ruin the experience for you, but we can tell you that indeed, FFXVI it has a much more mature and bloody tone than its predecessors.
Imagine that the plot of this installment is like the game of Thrones of the final fantasy And it’s not for less: during the beginning of our game session we were able to find sequences with clear sexual references and very visceral scenes that are worthy of an HBO series. We definitely want to know more about Clive, the Valisthea conflict, the Dominants, and the mysterious character that has caused the game’s protagonist so much pain.
During the first hours of the game we were shown in great detail how to control Clive and we are very happy to confirm that final fantasy 16 it has a fairly forgiving learning curve and will allow you to understand the commands with ease. That being said, we don’t think you’ll have any problems chaining hits together elegantly, countering at the right time, or using one of Clive’s special attacks.
This delivery of final fantasy is completely focused on the action and you will not have to be reading texts during the fights or interrupt the gameplay to decide what attack your character will make; Here there is none of that. In fact, final fantasy 16 looks more like a hack and slash that a RPG.
We were also able to try one of the scenarios with “open world” zones and we got a good surprise. Yes ok the world of Valisthea will not be as spontaneous as that of red dead redemption 2we can confirm that it is full of life. Not only will you find an abundant flora, you will also be able to face the fauna of the region, you will have the opportunity to complete one or another secondary mission and find chests with valuable resources hidden nicely next to one or another enemy.

In this sense, FFXVI looks a bit conservative and, apparently, it proposes beautiful open world scenarios, but very close to the manual. We’re not saying this is a bad thing, after all the game excels at presenting fairly linear single player adventures, but if you came with high expectations for these open areas, you’d better go a little more measured.
As we told you at the beginning, we also played the demo that Juanem tried a few months ago and we can tell you that when it comes to being a Dominant -giant creatures filled with the magical power of crystals- you will really feel powerful. The dynamics of the commands are essentially the same, but the heaviness of a character of such dimensions is felt in control and is a legendary experience. Being in this form really felt huge, powerful and with the ability to destroy the world. And that’s not all, we were also able to face off against a character called Garuda while in our human form and the combat is still one of the most colorful we’ve seen in the last decade. Square Enix is shaping up to deliver one of the best final fantasy that we have seen

Now, we can’t stop talking about how good the game looks. The lights, the particles, the movement of the elements, the textures and the art design in general, left us speechless. The transitions between cinematics and the gameplay they are smooth and not interrupted by loading screens disguised as light doors or something like that, and don’t even get us started about when Clive becomes a Dominant, because just remembering it makes us hide the leather. And if that was not enough, final fantasy 16 it has pretty solid performance and a frame rate that remains stable.
And yes, in FFXVI you can pet your puppy
In case you were wondering, we we were playing with voices in latin spanish and we can tell you that, in general, the localization of the game seems to be very well done. We were able to identify great dubbing talents like Carlos Segundo, so we are sure that the fans will be more than satisfied. Of course, there are a couple of voices that we believe are not so suitable for the characters, but we will have to wait to see the final version of the game to find out if they succeeded or not.
Finally we have to talk about music. final fantasy It is distinguished by having an epic soundtrack and this installment is no exception: the combats go from being legendary to epic, thanks to the musical composition that accompanies each confrontation. A true delicacy of music that we are sure everyone will enjoy.
