It’s a festive treat.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has brought Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc back to our screens, but if you want to see it on Netflix, you’ll have to wait a little while.
The streaming service has given the sequel to the 2019 hit a history-making theatrical run, which will see a Netflix Original movie play in the major cinema chains in both the US and the UK for the first time ever.
Usually, Netflix movies only get theatrical outings in independent cinemas, but Glass Onion is getting a one-week run in cinemas. Unless Netflix extends the run (which seems unlikely), the final day you can see Glass Onion in cinemas is Tuesday, November 29.
But if you miss out at the cinema, you don’t have too long to wait as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will be released on Netflix on Friday, December 23. It’s an early festive treat for all of us.
As with all Netflix releases, Glass Onion will be available to watch from 8am UK time on December 23, which is midnight PT and 3am ET in the US.
The sequel sees Benoit Blanc head to a lavish private estate on a Greek island, seemingly having been invited by billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) to his annual reunion of his closest group of friends.
But how Benoit ended up there is just the first mystery as somebody soon turns up dead, and everybody on the island becomes a suspect.
Alongside the returning Daniel Craig, Glass Onion‘s new cast of suspects includes Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monáe, Jessica Henwick, Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr and Madelyn Cline.
If you fancy catching up on the first movie before seeing the sequel, you can currently buy or rent Knives Out from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
