It has been over a decade since the release of Enchanted, a beloved Disney movie that captivated audiences with its charming storyline and catchy musical numbers. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a sequel, and we’re happy to report that Enchanted 2 is officially in the works!
The sequel, titled Disenchanted, picks up where the first movie left off. Giselle, played by Amy Adams, has been happily married to Robert, played by Patrick Dempsey, and they have a daughter named Morgan. However, Giselle begins to question if happily ever after is really all it’s cracked up to be.
Most of the original cast members will be returning for the sequel, including Amy Adams as Giselle, Patrick Dempsey as Robert, and James Marsden as Prince Edward. Newcomers to the franchise include Maya Rudolph and Yvette Nicole Brown.
The Release Date
So, when can fans expect to see Disenchanted in theaters? Unfortunately, no official release date has been announced yet. However, it’s expected to hit theaters sometime in 2023.
Adam Shankman is directing the sequel, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. The script was written by J. David Stem and David N. Weiss, and is said to be just as witty and charming as the first movie.
What to Expect
While plot details are scarce, fans can expect more enchanting musical numbers and plenty of laughs. The first movie was a love letter to classic Disney movies, and Disenchanted is sure to continue that tradition.
While it’s disappointing that we still have to wait a bit longer for the release of Disenchanted, fans can take comfort in the fact that the movie is officially in production and the original cast members are returning. We can’t wait to see what adventures Giselle and her friends get up to in the sequel!
