The Beginning of a Franchise
The Fast and Furious franchise has been around for quite some time now, captivating audiences around the world with its thrilling car chases, high-octane action, and engaging characters. The third movie in the franchise was released in 2006 and was called “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.” This movie followed a new protagonist named Sean Boswell (played by Lucas Black) as he navigates the underground world of drift racing in Tokyo. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker did not appear in this movie.
Fast & Furious (2009)
The fourth movie in the franchise was released in 2009 and was called “Fast & Furious.” This movie saw the return of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker to the franchise, as their characters team up to take on a common enemy. Michelle Rodriguez also returned to the franchise in this movie.
Fast Five (2011)
The fifth movie in the franchise was released in 2011 and was called “Fast Five.” This movie saw the gang team up to pull off a heist in Rio de Janeiro. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also joined the franchise in this movie as a federal agent hunting down the gang.

The sixth movie in the franchise was released in 2013 and was called “Fast & Furious 6.” This movie saw the gang team up once again to take on a former Special Forces soldier who has gone rogue. The movie also introduced Luke Evans’ character, Owen Shaw, who would go on to play a major role in the franchise.
Furious 7 (2015)
The seventh movie in the franchise was released in 2015 and was called “Furious 7.” This movie saw the gang face off against Owen Shaw’s brother, Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham), who seeks revenge for his brother’s defeat. This movie also featured the final performance of Paul Walker, who died during the filming of the movie.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
The eighth movie in the franchise was released in 2017 and was called “The Fate of the Furious.” This movie saw Dom turn against his own team and work with a cyberterrorist named Cipher (played by Charlize Theron). The rest of the gang must team up to stop Dom and Cipher from unleashing chaos on the world.
Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
In 2019, a spin-off movie was released called “Hobbs & Shaw.” This movie focused on the characters of Luke Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham) as they team up to take on a cybernetically-enhanced villain named Brixton (played by Idris Elba).
