Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu (Vaarasudu in Telugu) is one of the biggies scheduled for the Sankranthi 2023 release. The film will be released alongside Megastar’s Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy. Top producer Dil Raju is producing this s-called bilingual but now it is known to all that it is primarily a Tamil film dubbed in Telugu.
According to the Telugu Film Producer’s Council, Dil Raju himself in 2019 had said that big Telugu releases should be given priority during festive seasons like Dusshera and Sankranthi.
But if Dil Raju still wants to go ahead with the release of Vaarasudu in the Telugu states, it will mean lesser theatres for Chiru and Balayya’s movies as he has a sizable power in the Nizam region. There is pressure on him to postpone or prepone the release of Vaarasudu in the Telugu states.
Due to this Vijay fans in Tamil Nadu have become upset. They don’t want Dil Raju to back out now. They want Varisu to come out in all languages only during the Sankranthi as it is the most lucrative season for box office collections.
They are also threatening and blackmailing that if the Varisu release date is changed then they will make sure Ram Charan’s RC15 in the direction of Shankar will not get a release in Tamil Nadu.
But our dear Tamil Thambis must realize that RC15 is a proper Bilingual directed by their very own Shankar, unlike Varisu which is not bilingual. Giving such threats will only increase the bad blood between the two industries and their fans. So they should refrain from making such statements.
