These numbers give hope to cinema makers, especially to regional ones, who will be hoping to replicate the nationwide success of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise in 2021.
The month of March will see many high profile releases in Tamil and Telugu languages, led by SS Rajamouli’s multi-starrer RRR, a period romance featuring Prabhas and a racy sports thriller.
This Tamil film starring Dulquer Salmaan, Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari reolves around Mouna and Yaazhan who fall in love with each other and get married, only to fall out of love two years later. This bilingual comedy thriller starring Kiran Abbavaram and Nuveksha will be releasing in both Tamil and Telugu. It tells the story of a cop who suffers from night blindness and the lengths that he has to go to keep this secret. The movie releasing on March 4 is directed by Balaji Sayyapureddy.
Aadavaallu Meeku Johaarlu
This upcoming Telugu romantic comedy stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sharwanand in lead roles. The film is about a man who is desperately trying to find himself a wife but can’t do so as the women in his house keep rejecting the matches. Things somehow take a turn for worse when he meets Aadhya who might be the perfect match for his nitpicking family and him as well. The film will be coming to the theatres on March 4.
This Tamil film is a women-centric crime thriller starring Yashika Aannand as a cop, Bharathi, who is freshly transferred to a police control room in Chennai. One day gets a distress call which leads her to an encounter with a psychopath villain. Will Bharathi manage to hunt him down, before he can raise any more havoc? Another film releasing on March 11 is Tamil language sports thriller stars Varun Tej, Suniel Shetty and Mahesh Manjrekar. Will Ghani manage to rise against all odds to finally realise his dream?
Atharvaa and Priya Bhavani Shankar starrer Tamil movie is an action thriller that was announced back in 2017. It revolves around a Madurai-based gangster and his special bond with a little girl. The movie was ready to release in 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. The film will finally be releasing this March 24.
RRR – Raththam Ranam Rowthiram
This much-awaited Telugu movie by S.S. Rajamouli stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. It is a fictional tale of two revolutionaries who fought against the British Raj in India during the 1920s. Releasing on March 25, the film also features a cameo by Ajay Devgn. RRR will be releasing in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
