Aryan(Akshay Kumar) is the best archaeologist in India. He is assigned the important task of proving the formation of Ram Setu, whether it is natural or man-made. Aryan needs to complete the task and give the government clarity in their decision to destroy Ram Setu by joining hands with Indrakanth(Nasser) for a construction project named Sethusamudram. The rest of the narrative of Ram Setu is what Aryan experiences on this journey.
Akshay Kumar was an actor made for these roles, as it is known to us all. Akshay can easily get into the skin of the characters when it comes to professional roles on screen. This time, in Ram Setu, Akshay Kumar plays one such professional role as India’s best archeologist. Well, he perfectly fits the role and leads the film from the front. Playing Aryan was a cake walk for Akshay and he really excelled at it with ease. The shot where Akshay walks out of the sea on Ram Setu is just above brilliant.
Jacqueline Fernandez is strong in assisting Akshay throughout the film. She has done extremely well in her role.
Satyadev makes a decent debut in Hindi with Ram Setu. His role is noteworthy, sharing maximum screen space with Akshay Kumar, and his performance is appreciable.
Nasser is good as an antagonist.
Abhishek Sharma has penned a really brilliant story with a unique idea. The storyline of exploring Ram Setu, the pride of Indian heritage, is itself an appreciable idea from the director. Abhishek had undergone a lot of research to clearly understand and deliver a lot of stories around this issue. He clearly discussed and presented all those stories and facts around Ram Setu in his film. Abhishek Sharma needs to be applauded for his brave attempt in making this adventure thriller since Ram Setu is the first film that has been made on that concept in Indian cinema.
The film’s action scenes are the highlight from the technical perspective. A couple of chasing sequences in the second half of the film leave us in awe.
The production values of the film are what attract us technically. Being such a huge budget film, the presentation needs to be very attractive and that’s what the experience we have from Ram Setu.
Daniel’s music, Mishra’s cinematography, editing, VFX, and other technical departments of the film look decent. Jai Shree Ram song stands out the best among the music.
Ram Setu is an intriguing adventure thriller based on a novel idea in Indian cinema. Akshay Kumar leads this brilliant idea by Abhishek Sharma to explore the history and mystery of Ram Setu.
