New OTT Releases This Week (January 16 to January 22, 2023): Mission Majnu, Kaapa, Jhansi, The Last of Us, and more – Pricebaba Daily

After a busy Sankranti week packed with big-ticket releases, users of OTT platforms in India can enjoy many new shows and films once again this week. Two new Bollywood films will be released directly on OTT this week. Sidharth Malhotra starrer Mission Majnu and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Chattriwali will stream on Netflix and Zee5, respectively.
On the regional content front, new seasons of several shows have been planned. After the first successful season, Disney+ Hotstar show Jhansi, Hoichoi show Indu, Netflix show Fauda, and a few more will stream on the concerned digital platforms again.
Sports fans will be pleased as several tournaments have been scheduled this year. The much-awaited and reputed tennis league, Australian Open, began this week. On the other hand, fans of cricket matches can enjoy yet another series, this time against New Zealand. Three out of six matches are scheduled to be played over the next two weeks, starting with the first ODI on January 18, 2023. Users in India can stream them on SonyLIV and Disney+ Hotstar, respectively.

After the successful first season of Jhansi, Disney+ Hotstar is all set to release a new season this week. Jhansi made a mark among the audience and received positive reviews from critics. Sharing the trailer, Disney+ Hotstar said, “Jhansi is back with a double dose of action, adventure, and drama!” The story of Jhansi revolves around a woman who is on a journey to find her people who want her dead. While she embarks on a brave mission, what follows are events where she has to keep both herself and the family safe from threats.

The attempt and motive are one, i.e., to gain dominion over the city’s suburbs and slums. The film was released in 2022 and received a mediocre response from the critics and the audience

Starring eminent names, the storyline of Chattriwali will not come across as a fresh one for the audience of Zee5. Presented as a comedy-drama, the premise revolves around a teacher wanting to spread the right message about sex education and related aspects. The official synopsis, as shared by the makers, reads, “Sanya is an unemployed chemistry genius looking for a job. However, she also wants to use her knowledge of chemistry to help young minds move beyond the taboos of sex with the right education.”
Written by Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Srivastava, the fundamental idea of the film is similar to that of the previous Zee5 release, Janhit Mein Jaari, starring Nushrat Barucha.

The Telugu-language thriller series, ATM, is written by Hari Shankar and directed by C Chandra Mohan. The story of the web series revolves around a heist which happens in the city of Hyderabad. Produced by Dil Raju, ATM stars the title winner of Bigg Boss Telugu, VJ Sunny.

Written and directed by Shivaa Tejas, Dil Pasand is a Kannada language rom-com which failed to impress the audience during the theatrical run. The story revolves around Santhosh and Minchu, who meet each other via an arranged marriage set up organised by his parents. While they are about to get married, he meets Aishwarya and is immediately impressed since she is completely opposite to the traditional Minchu. What follows are events where he has to decide on the girl he wants to marry; however, he has to deal with the challenges, twists, complications and more.

Korean drama titled Hidden Identity, which was released several years ago, is now being dubbed in Kannada for the Indian audience. Presented as an action drama, the story of Fauda revolves around how the Israel-Palestine conflict affected human lives. Created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, the official synopsis of the previous season read, “Doron ensnares a determined young boxer when a months-long covert mission puts the team on the trail of a Hamas leader high on Shin Bet’s wanted list.” The last episode of the season said, “Eli sends the team back into the field with a new member, while Bashar’s plan for a knockout punch race toward a jolting end,” and the fourth season will begin from where the previous ended.
