Amazon Prime Video continues to impress with the sheer amount of new and returning content that comes to the streaming service. Here are all of the new films and TV shows coming to Amazon Prime Video this week, between September 12 and September 18.

Following on from its record-breaking launch, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns with its fourth episode. We’re expecting to see more from Arondir, who remains the captive of some vicious orcs and their leader, Adar. Hopefully, viewers will get to know a little more about one of the series’ leading villains in this new episode. The Harfoots meanwhile have relocated, but not without Nori’s strange new friend. Exactly what chaos he will lead them into remains to be seen. Then there’s Galadriel who, with Halbrand, must make a decision on their future after she unearthed details surrounding Sauron’s ultimate plan.

Meanwhile, sci-fi fans are looking forward to the return of War of the Worlds on EPIX. After a season 2 finale that saw Bill travel back in time, hoping to prevent the birth of the alien race, we will discover whether or not he was successful. Taking place in modern-day France and the UK, the war between humans and aliens reaches a tipping point, setting the stage for the rest of the season.
Then there’s the new thriller movie Goodnight Mommy. When a pair of twins begin to doubt that their mother is who she says she is, a shocking series of events begin to take place. Praised for its cinematography, this could be one of the surprise movie hits of 2022.
