With 2022 coming to an end in less than 5 months, a few highly anticipated upcoming films are still set to be released, especially in September.
With the recent release of The Woman King trailer and a release date set for September 2022, the month is shaping up to be exciting for moviegoers.
From Disney’s new Hocus Pocus 2 to the final installment of the After franchise with After Ever Happy, September is a month filled with new movie releases that are set to have fans and audiences raving. From the beginning to the end of the month, anticipated movies are set to be released almost every week of the month, leaving fans with an overflowing watchlist.
After Ever Happy is a romantic drama and will be the fourth and final installment of the After franchise following the romance of Hardin Scott and Tessa Young, with Hero Fiennes and Josephine Langford reprising their roles, respectively.

The upcoming film picks up with Harden and Tessa at a crossroads, as each discovers secrets about their own families. These secrets expose that the two families aren’t so different from each other, leaving Hardin and Tessa on a road to self-discovery.
Dark Harvest is a fantasy horror based on a 2006 novel by the same name, originally set to be released on September 24th, but COVID-19 delays pushed it to its current release date.
The film is set in the ’60s in a Midwestern town in which the town boys are faced with the task of defeating and killing a supernatural entity by the name of October Boy. The winner who succeeds in defeating the knife-wielding killer is granted the opportunity to leave their hunted town, something that’s impossible to do otherwise. Depending on how much the film relates to the novel, October Boy aka Ol’ Hacksaw Face could be considered one of the best-masked killers in a movie.
A film a decade in the making, Clerks 3 is an upcoming American comedy that will be in theaters for two days only come September 13, 2022. The film will have the ensemble cast of Kevin Smith, Trevor Fehrman, Rosario Dawson, Jay Mewes, and Brian O’Halloran.

Coming to Netflix sometime in September 2022, The School For Good And Evil is a fantasy film based on the 2013 novel of the same name. Starring a talented veteran cast of Michelle Yeoh, Charlize Theron, and Kerry Washington, the cast of The School For Good And Evil is no doubt familiar to many.
The film will follow two best friends, Agatha and Sophie, who are kidnapped and taken to the titular School for Good and Evil. Here the best friends will discover not only a whole new world but also themselves as they look to get back home.
A film that will recount the true story of two twin sisters, The Silent Twins is set to star Letitia Wright and Tamara Lawrance as the main characters. The film tells the story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, twin sisters who have only communicated with each other for their entire lives. When society deems them unwell, the sisters must decide whether to leave each other’s side and survive or stick together and die.
Directed by Agnieszka Smoczynska, The Silent Twins has received some criticism already before its release due to its inconsistent handling of themes surrounding racism and mental illness and misused tone. But even with this criticism, the film looks to tell the harrowing story of two sisters’ unbreakable bond in a visually interesting world.
After its much-anticipated trailer release, The Woman King, starring the talented Viola Davis, is set to be released on September 16, 2022. The film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and will also star Hero Fiennes, John Boyega, and Lashana Lynch.
The Woman King will tell the historical true events of The Kingdom of Dahomey, which was considered one of the most powerful states in the country of Africa during the 18th and 19th centuries. It will, in particular, explore the Dahomey Amazons, an all-female military within the kingdom. The film is set to be released on September 30, 2022, and it looks like viewers are in for some creepy horror. The cast includes Sosie Bacon, Caitlin Stasey, Jessie Usher, and Kyle Gallner, and will be released Paramount Pictures.
Almost 30 years after the release of its 1993 prequel, Hocus Pocus, Disney is set to release Hocus Pocus 2 at the end of September. The film will follow three young girls unwittingly releasing the infamous Sanderson sisters and must figure out a way to defeat the child-hungry witches in modern-day Salem.
