Will Smith Apologized After Causing A Commotion Because Chris Rock Slapped On The Stage At The 2022 Oscar Awards. While Crying, Will Said This.
Actor Will Smith recently made a public commotion. How not, Wil was caught on camera slapping Chris Rock in front of fellow artists and media crew.
Will Smith was allegedly emotional because he did not accept the name of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith , being flicked by Chris Rock. Chris is considered to have made fun of Jada’s bald head by making it a joke when he was about to read out the winning nominations.
After that incident, unexpectedly, Will won the 2022 Oscar in the Best Actor category. Will was also given the opportunity to deliver his victory speech.
Will thanks everyone who has supported him. He then apologized to The Academy for causing a stir by slapping Chris Rock. He also apologized for surprising fellow artists.
“I want to apologize to The Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees,” Will continued in tears. “It’s a beautiful moment, and I’m not crying over winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me, it’s about being able to shine a light on everyone, the entire cast and crew of King Richard.”
On the other hand, a number of actors such as Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper had calmed Will after slapping Chris Rock. They warn Will to hold back his emotions because his career is being tested.
