The Oscar 2022 Event This Time Has Shown Its Commitment To Listening To The Voices Of Fans By Creating New Categories Outside Of The Existing Categories.
There are times when a movie that is loved by fans doesn’t even get a nomination at the Oscars. Therefore, the Oscar 2022 this time has shown its commitment to listening to the voices of fans.
During Sunday’s Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the winners of two new fan-voted categories, one of which was the Oscars Fan Favorite. Netflix’s zombie action film ” Army of the Dead “, starring Dave Bautista from ” Dune ” and directed by Zack Snyder, took the top spot for fan-favorite films.
” Cinderella ” starring Camila Cabello took second place as runner-up. In third place is ” Minamata “, starring Johnny Depp “. The most popular film that is still being talked about until now, ” Spider-Man: No Way Home “, is in fourth place. Then in fifth place is Andrew Garfield’s film ” Tick, tick… Boom! ”
As a token of appreciation for participating in voting for the winner, the Academy selected three people who cast their ballot on Twitter to take a free trip to the 2023 Oscars in Los Angeles, each with a guest. Meryl Johnson, VP of digital marketing at the Academy, told The Hollywood Reporter about the new fan-chosen categories. He is excited to be working with Twitter to host categories outside of the mainstream.
“We are excited to partner with Twitter,” he said. “To help build an engaged and excited digital audience ahead of this year’s ceremony.”
He hopes that this activity can provide an opportunity for fans around the world to express their aspirations. That way, they can provide a different experience for fans.
“Through this activity, social media users around the world now have more opportunities,” he continued. “To engage with the show in real time, find a community, and be a part of the experience in a way they’ve never been before.”
