The story of the characters is based on a New York Times bestseller, ‘Pachinko,’ about a group of Koreans who live in Japan and encounter the severe discrimination they face as they try to make a living in this country. The cast includes Lee Min Ho as Koh Hansu, a member of the Japanese Yakuza – one of the largest transnational crime syndicates in the world. Another cast member is Soji Arai, who plays the wealthy businessman Baek Mozasu.
The series is based on bestselling novel by Min Jin Lee and will feature three languages – Japanese, English, and Korean. The first episode of Pachinko will debut on March 25. The actor has shared the first look images of the series’ main character, Koh Hansu. It will be interesting to see the Koreans of Japan as they face the harsh discrimination.
