Will the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home have a bad impact on Marvel?

As we previously reported, Spider-Man: No Way Home brought great success to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) despite being released in the midst of a pandemic. However, its success could mean an unexpected challenge for the MCU.

Carrying the theme of the multiverse which will be the main issue in Phase four, a number of parties feel that Sony and Marvel Studios should work even harder in developing the stories so that they do not disappoint the fans.

Multiverse will be a challenge for both MCU and Sony

No Way Home opens up the concept of Marvel’s multiverse with many villains from other universes after Doctor Strange’s misguided spell. The spell also brought two other Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield). The three work together to send everyone home.

At the end of No Way Home , Tom Holland’s Spider-Man faces a new challenge in a world where Peter Parker’s memories have been erased. That certainly gives a signal for the Spider-Man 4 project . Using the multiverse as the core concept of the story, No Way Home opens the door for Tobey and Andrew to continue their adventures as Spider-Man again.

MCU Simalakama Fruit?

There are already sizable indications that No Way Home is just the beginning of any adjustments, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. When No Way Home hits theaters in 2021, chatter immediately begins to surface about Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield continuing their respective Spider-Man franchises.

Meanwhile, the film Into the Spider-Verse has two sequels. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (will be available in two parts). At the same time, Tom Hardy’s version of Venom looks set to cross paths with one of Peter Parker’s three at a later date.

The Spider-Verse that Sony has developed will not lead to the downfall of the MCU. Holland remains highly likable as the MCU’s Spider-Man. No Way Home is able to set the next Peter Parker story with MJ Zendaya and other characters as a must-see in the future.

The irony, however, is that Sony’s plans for Spider-Man and other connected characters could turn their Spider-Man-based franchise into an MCU challenger.
