ET, also known as Etharkkum Thunindhavan, is a 2022 Tamil language vigilante action thriller film. It is written and directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures. The film stars Suriya, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Vinay Rai. Here’s my ET review. I hope it will help you decide whether you should see this movie or not.
The film is based on the real-life sexual assault case in Pollachi, and Suriya is back as the righteous lawyer. But it’s a different story than Chandru. In this movie, she plays Kannabiran, who comes across a network of men, led by a wealthy politician named Inba. They are robbing women of their money and stealing intimate videos. It’s a tale of love and revenge that will leave you wondering how you could possibly forgive a perpetrator.
While the subject of Etharkkum Thuninthavan is interesting, the film’s weak elements make it less likable. The movie’s story is well worth watching, and there are several engaging moments. However, the packaging is a major problem, as the entire film is made in a studio and doesn’t even have a single memorable moment. The movie also has a few disappointing sequences that could have gotten a better review if the filmmakers had tried to avoid using commercials in the film.
While Etharkum Thuninthavan has an excellent concept, it fails to evoke an emotional response from the audience. It is not well-acted and the performances are inconsistent. The story and the characters aren’t likable. The film’s star, Suriya, plays a typical commercial hero with relative ease. The film also contains some decent humour tracks, but it’s not enough to make it a good movie.
