[OSEN=Reporter Choi Na-young] ‘Paper Moon’ ended the finale leaving a deep aftertaste.
Genie TV’s original drama ‘Paper Moon’ (Director: Yoo Jong-seon, Jung Won-hee ㅣ Planning: KT Studio Genie ㅣ Producer: Lotte Cultureworks, Big Ocean E&M), which attracted attention with its unconventional development and Kim Seo-hyung’s passionate performance, has come to an end. The shocking end of ‘Lee Hwa’, who fell into the swamp of embezzlement that grew out of control, left a long aftertaste.
‘Paper Moon’ is a suspense drama in which ‘Yoo Yi-hwa (Kim Seo-hyung)’, who lived a suffocating life, faces an irreversible moment while embezzling money from her bank’s VIP customers. ‘Lee-hwa’ believes that her actions are good, and starts dabbling in other people’s money for fake happiness. The shocking end of ‘Lee Hwa’, who fell deeply into the lies that grew bigger and bigger as time passed, was drawn and left a long aftertaste.
Surprised by the sudden bank audit news, ‘Lee-hwa’ tried to burn all evidence of embezzlement she had committed so far, and was in danger of being caught by customers who visited her house just in time, but managed to escape the crisis. ‘Lee-hwa’, who has been getting more and more money in order to hide the lie, is afraid of the anxiety of not knowing when he will be caught. ‘Lee-hwa’, who had been leading a risky life, was shocked to see that even ‘Min-jae’, whom she had met after a long time, had completely lost her former innocence and changed into a completely different person. An awkward silence passed between the two. ‘Min-jae’, who had been avoiding contact with her, eventually notified her of breaking up, saying, “Please let me go from you.”
In the meantime, ‘Min-soo’ came to ‘Ewha’ to find the whereabouts of ‘Ruri’, who had disappeared after the circumstances of his hand in the money that had to be discarded were revealed. ‘Ihwa’ asked ‘Minsu’ who knew about ‘Ruri’s embezzlement’ why he pretended not to know, and ‘Minsu’ revealed that he did it because he was afraid that ‘Ruri’ would go wrong because of the money that would burn. ‘Ruri’, who was hiding in ‘Sookja”s house, was eventually kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend and shocked to find her cold body.
Meanwhile, ‘Lee-hwa’, shocked to see ‘Byeong-shik’ who followed her to the headquarters, was taken aback when she found out that ‘Byeong-shik’s business partner had noticed her embezzlement. Driven into her predicament, she participated in money laundering as he demanded, and in the end, she was framed as a murderer of ‘Byeongsik’. “It was just an accident,” says Lee-hwa, who called “Min-jae” one last time before she left for overseas. Other than that, we didn’t have anything else.” Min-jae, recalling memories with Lee-hwa in the rain, sobbed.
Everyone was told that ‘Ehwa’ had disappeared along with the murder charges. ‘Autumn’ and ‘Seonyeong’ were embarrassed and shed tears worrying about ‘Ewha’. At that time, ‘Lee-hwa’, who was on the run from the narrowing investigation, accidentally rescued a boy who had been kidnapped, and found a moment of silence by visiting the boy’s house. ‘Lee-hwa’ puts everything down and stands in an unfamiliar place. Her detached expression while looking at the moon left a deep resonance at the end.
Although it started with fake happiness, ‘Paper Moon’, which repeated unconventional developments due to the choice of ‘Lee Hwa’ who wanted to find real happiness, left a long aftertaste by making us think about the value and meaning of real money. In addition, Kim Seo-hyung’s passionate performance, perfectly immersed in every episode of ‘Ewha’, who fell into the swamp of irreversible desire, led to enthusiastic reviews. Lee Si-woo, who showed a bold charm unlike a rookie, and the ensemble of actors such as Yoo Seon, Seo Young-hee, Jung Gong-hwan, Lee Chun-hee, and Yoon Hee-seok also shone.
‘Paper Moon’ can be watched in its entirety on Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile, ENA, and TVing.
