Girlband fromis_9 has successfully topped the Oricon ‘Daily Album’ chart with their 5th mini album “From Our Memento Box”. According to the Oricon chart released on July 22 KST, fromis_9’s 5th mini album “From Our Memento Box” ranked 1st on the Oricon Daily Album chart.
Previously, fromis_9 also reached No. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Album chart with their 2nd single album “9 Way Ticket” and mini-album vol.4 “Midnight Guest”, reaching No. 1 for the 3rd consecutive album release. In particular, “From Our Memento Box” surpassed 130,000 copies in first week album sales, breaking fromis_9’s previous record of 104,000 copies in first week album sales with their 4th mini album “Midnight Guest”.
While fromis_9 debuted on January 24, 2018, under Stone Music Entertainment by releasing their first mini album, “To. Heart”. In September 2018, it was confirmed that fromis_9 would be managed by Off the Record Entertainment, a new label founded by Stone Music. As part of their transfer, Pledis Entertainment was in charge of the creative direction and production of the group’s music.
The group is co-managed by Off the Record and Stone Music. On August 16, 2021, as part of the Off the Record Entertainment label reorganization, Pledis Entertainment will act as the management company for the group.
On May 10, it was confirmed that Jang Gyuri had entered as a contestant on “Produce 48”. fromis_9 continued as an eight-member group and released their second mini album, “To. Day” on June 5, without Jang Gyuri due to her participation in the show. fromis_9 then returned to being a nine-member group after Jang Gyuri was eliminated in the 3rd elimination while ranking 25th.
