Recently, actor Kwon Soo Hyun talked about his character in his upcoming drama “Café Minamdang”. Adapted from the popular web novel of the same name, “Café Minamdang” is a comedy-mystery starring Seo In Guk as Nam Han Joon, a con man shaman who used to be a profiler and Oh Yeon Seo plays Han Jae Hee, a detective in the violent crimes unit who is passionate about justice.
Kwon Soo Hyun plays the skilled and sharp prosecutor Cha Do Won of the Western District Prosecutors’ Office. His character is polite and kind to everyone, but he also has the ability to make people freeze with his intense charisma and cold smile. Cha Do Won puts up an iron wall around him, but life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes entangled with unexpected people at Café Minamdang and Han Jae Hee.
Kwon Soo Hyun shared what attracted him to the drama. “I think it’s a perfect drama for this era when everyone gets tired for different reasons. The things that appealed to me the most were the fast plot development and comedic points that gave us room to breathe during our difficult lives. ‘Café Minamdang’ is full of light stories but not entirely light,” he said.
In addition, Kwon Soo Hyun also discussed his character Cha Do Won. He is a cool-headed but clumsy character. He is a cute character who is far from the heavy image of a prosecutor. I tried to show a new side, such as clumsiness, which is different from the calm and serious prosecutor. Cha Do Won is also like a philanthropist who always follows Han Jae Hee wherever he is and helps him. I think he goes to the police station more than the prosecutor’s office,” he exclaimed.
