Hyun Bin Says His Character In ‘Confidential Assignment 2’ Is More Relaxed Than The First Film, Why?

Hyun Bin Talked About Various Interesting Things About His Character While Attending The ‘Confidential Assignment 2: International’ Press Conference On Tuesday (16/8). Here’s The Full Narrative.

On Tuesday (16/8), the film production team ” Confidential Assignment 2: International ” held a press conference at Conrad Seoul, Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by the director and the main cast including Hyun Bin .

“Confidential Assignment 2: International” will continue the story of North Korean detective Im Chul Ryung (Hyun Bin) who is sent back to South Korea to complete a new mission. He is assigned to arrest the leader of the North Korean crime organization Jang Myung Joon ( Jin Sun Kyu ).

Im Chul Ryung will return to work with South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae ( Yoo Hae Jin ). She will also be involved with Park Min Young ( SNSD ‘s Yoona / Girls’ Generation ) who is Kang Jin Tae’s sister-in-law.

Regarding his role in the film, Hyun Bin said, “It’s been a long time since I greeted you. I played the role of Im Chul Ryung, who returned to South Korea with a new mission.”

Hyun Bin then revealed his character’s biggest difference from the first season. He said that Im Chul Ryung in “Confidential Assignment 2: International” became more relaxed because he had experience conducting investigations in South Korea.

He said, “Chul Ryung is getting used to working with Jin Tae. He met and got to know Jin Tae’s family too, and I believe that he is calmer because of his personal experience (as a police officer in North Korea).”

“He’s definitely brighter and more relaxed when compared to the previous film, when he (is a person) who is darker and wants revenge because it hasn’t been long (since he) lost his wife,” added the 1982-born actor.

Director Lee Seok Hoon also revealed the important points of this film. He did not even rule out the production of a third series of this film.

The director explained, “When the trailer for the sequel was released some time ago, there were a lot of comments that I read on YouTube or social media saying that the audience was happy to see the actors playing the characters again.”

“I believe that the most important element in a film that turns into a series is how loved the characters are. If ‘Confidential Assignment 2: International’ is successful, I believe it could be the impetus for a third film, although nothing has been specifically discussed yet.” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Confidential Assignment 2: International” is scheduled to be released on September 7.
