HBO Max: Every Movie & TV Show Coming In December 2021 – Screen Rant

December 2021 features the additions of classic movies, HBO season finales, and anticipated film premieres like The Matrix Resurrections on HBO Max.
Finishing out the year, HBO Max is welcoming plenty of exciting new and classic movies and shows to the catalog in December 2021. As HBO Max acquires more content with contracts from studios, the classic movies and shows that subscribers have been eagerly missing are slowly returning. With HBO Max’s catalog being separated by Warner Bros. projects, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies, HBO originals, Cartoon Network, Sesame Street, Studio Ghibli, and the streaming service’s own original content, there’s never a shortage of new and rewatchable movies and TV shows.
The November 2021 additions to HBO Max have included several long-awaited premieres of movies and shows, including the critically acclaimed biopic King Richard on November 19. As for HBO Max original content, the streaming service also saw the season 1 premiere of Mindy Kaling’s The Sex Lives of College Girls on November 18 and film premiere of 8-Bit Christmas, starring How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris, on November 24. While 8-Bit Christmas’s movie will remain on the streaming service indefinitely, King Richard will be briefly exiting HBO Max in mid-December.

While December 2021 means an exciting new catalog of movies and TV shows, it also signals the departure of many titles to make more room. The most significant exit from HBO Max is the positively reviewed King Richard on December 19, which will then move to its exclusive theatrical period. Other titles that are disappearing by the end of the month include 2020’s The Invisible Man, the Kill Bill movies, The Pink Panther film series, Like Mike, and Emma (2020). Along with November 2021’s exciting additions, HBO Max subscribers can look ahead to January 2022 premieres like the Harry Potter 20th anniversary reunion and DCEU’s Peacemaker series.
