What date and time will the highly anticipated Tamil-language action movie Enemy release worldwide for online OTT streaming?
The global coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the Indian cinema industry, but things are finally starting to get back to normal for theatres across the country.
However, film-lovers may still not feel comfortable travelling to a packed theatre to watch the latest blockbusters, with many patiently waiting for the digital debut.
This week, the Tamil-language action thriller movie Enemy is set to release online, but what date and time will the film launch for OTT streaming?
Enemy is an Indian Tamil-language action thriller that features the popular Vishal and Arya in the leading roles as friends turned foes.
The movie was originally scheduled to premiere in domestic theatres on October 14th, 2021, but was delayed until November 4th when it premiered in both Hindi and Tamil.
Enemy tells the story of two former best friends, Chozhan (Vishal) and Rajiv (Arya), who were training to become police officers. However, the pair go their separate ways after Chozhan’s family moves to Singapore when a mysterious incident leaves Rajiv’s father dead.
Chozhan now lives a relatively normal life, but also secretly works as a vigilante within the Tamil community. One day, he saves the life of the Indian External Affairs Minister, whose pacemaker appears to be tampered with.
As he investigates the tampering case, he realises that Rajiv is somehow involved…but how?

On January 25th, 2022, it was officially confirmed that the digital streaming rights for the Tamil and Telugu versions of Enemy had been acquired by SonyLIV.
Enemy will be exclusively available to stream online through the SonyLIV platform from Friday, February 18th.
The streaming platform only offers one package that will provide access to Enemy when it premieres digitally. However, there are three prices for this service, with SonyLIV Premium costing Rs 299 for one month, Rs 699 for six months or Rs 999 for 12 months.
A specific launch time has not yet been confirmed, with reports from fans on social media indicating the film could release as soon as 8 PM India Standard Time (technically February 17th). However, the news media outlet FossBytes is reporting that “should be available to stream at 12:00 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).”

As with any modern Indian movie, the soundtrack is one of the most important parts of any promotional campaign.
Thankfully, Enemy has experienced a fantastic response from fans online, with the music video for ‘Tum Tum’ receiving more than 145 million views on the Divo Music YouTube channel.
The soundtrack for Enemy was composed by S. Thaman (Vakeel Saab) and is scored by Sam C.S (Vikram Vedha).
Unfortunately, the reviews from film critics left a lot to be desired when Enemy premiered in theatres back in November 2021, with the movie scoring a 6.8/10 on IMDB.
Sify gave the film a 3/5 rating, stating that whilst Enemy was a “neatly written action thriller”, it included logical loopholes including “how Vishal and Arya casually fight in the foreign land (that too, Singapore) without the intervention of cops.”
The same 3/5 score was given by The Times of India, arguing that “Vishal and Arya star in a watchable thriller”, but that the film “could have been better if some of the cliched sequences had been avoided.”
“Despite the implications of protagonists being geniuses, none of their acts to outdo each other is particularly clever. Maybe that is why, in the end, they abandon brains for brawn and settle their scores over a bloody brawl.” – The Hindu.
Tamil film #ENEMY will premiere on SonyLIV on February 18th.
