An lively adaptation of Shawn Amos’s approaching semi-autobiographical novel Cookies & Milk is in development at Disney Television Animation.
Inspired by means of Blues musician Amos’s personal early life as the son of Wallace “Wally” Amos, Jr., founding father of the Famous Amos chocolate chip cookie emblem, the series will follow the summer adventures of a harmonica-gambling middle schooler as he begrudgingly helps his father open the world’s first cookie save in Seventies Hollywood.
Executive producers for the collection are Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland of Cinema Gypsy Productions (black-ish, upcoming Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur); Jesse Murphy and James Sears Bryant of Jesse James Films; and Shawn Amos. Brian Egeston (The Game, upcoming On A Wing and A Prayer) is ready as co-govt producer and tale editor.

This funny and heartwarming exploration of summer amusing and friendship visible via the eyes of a younger Black boy being raised with the aid of his divorced father is complete of pleasure, self-discovery and an entire lot of unconditional love.”
