Whilst the final few weeks of any anime broadcasting slate can be extremely exciting for fans, it can also be a time of sadness and concern about the future of certain shows.

Whilst season 2 remains TBA, fans are now curious as to what date and time season 1 part 2, airing with episode 13, is set to release around the world for OTT streaming.

Blue Lock season 1 part 2 is set to start with the broadcast of episode 13, scheduled for Saturday, January 7.
Crunchyroll has confirmed that episode 13 of the Blue Lock anime will be released online for OTT streaming at the following international times:
New episodes from the English dub also via Crunchyroll every Saturday at 1:15 PM PT/4:15 PM ET/9:15 PM GMT.
“The third stage of the “Rivalry Battle,” a secondary selection in which teams of three battle it out, and if they win, they take players from the other team to win. Jie, Hachiraku, and Nagi teamed up to fight against the top 3 players of the new Blue Rock ranking led by Rin. Jie feels her team’s growth by taking the first victory. However, Rin’s shot changes the atmosphere on the field, and Kiyoshi and his teammates see the difference in ability between them and the top 3.” – Episode 13 Story, via official website.
Prior to the premiere of Blue Lock in October, Japanese outlet Comic Natalie reported that the anime series would be broadcast over two consecutive cours with a grand total of 24 episodes in season 1.
A cour is a three-month programming slate: Winter (January – March), Spring (April – June), Summer (July – September), and Fall (October – December). This means that Blue Lock season 1 will be broadcast over two consecutive three-month slates, starting from October 2022 and running through until March 2023.
This has also been since reaffirmed with the official Blu-Ray DVD listings for Blue Lock season 1. Four volumes with six anime episodes each are set to release domestically in Japan in 2023; Volume 1 in January, Volume 2 in March, Volume 3 in May, and Volume 4 in July.

As previously noted, Blue Lock has not yet been publicly renewed for season 2 and despite season 1 not being complete, fans can still expect the anime to return for another broadcast after the premiere of episode 24.
This is because anime renewals typically depend on both the availability of source material from an original light novel or manga series, and the popularity of the wider franchise. Thankfully, Blue Lock has both in abundance.
Episode 24 (set to premiere in March 2023) is expected to adapt up until volume 11 of the original Blue Lock manga series; assuming that part two maintains its current pacing.
The good news is that as of December 2022, a total of 22 volumes have been published in Japan. This means that as soon as Blue Locks season 1 concludes, there will likely be enough source material from the manga to start production on season 2 straight away.
More good news is that the Blue Lock anime should prove popular enough to merit a second season being produced at Studio 8bit. Ahead of the part one finale, Blue Lock is scoring an impressive 8.26/10 on MyAnimeList, 8.5/10 on IMDB, 80% on Anilist, and 4.3/5 on Anime Planet.
Interestingly, this not only makes Blue Lock the eighth highest-rated anime from the Fall slate on MAL, but is also the third highest-rated Studio 8bit production of all time; only behind TenSura.
“To be the best. You have to work the best, you have to train the best, eat, and sleep the best. Sometimes, it even takes going through extreme measures, in order to find that best out of someone. Even if what is presented, wouldn’t be called Football to you. Football may just be a sport to some, but for a load of people it’s very serious business. People eat, sleep, dream football. People travel endless miles, travel to different countries, no matter the cost, to watch their team perform. It may be a sport, but it’s a lifestyle for so many, to even many nations, who want to grasp it by the horns, and be the best in the world. This is Blue Lock.” – User review, via MAL.
Finally, the anime gave a significant boost to the manga sales (aided by the broadcast of the FIFA World Cup), with now more than 12 million copies in circulation.
Overall, it should only be a matter of time before Blue Lock is renewed for season 2; however, we may have to wait until after the season 1 finale airs in March 2023 for official confirmation.
I really hope Blue Lock gets a budget for animation with season 2. It has a lot of hype but the animation outside of like 7 seconds per episode (I’m exaggerating) is very mid.
